Abstract��
Taking Guanziling tunnel on Lanzhou-Chongqing railway as the background, numerical simulation was carried out for the construction of large-section tunnel, calculations were performed for the bench method, double side-headings, full-face excavation and enlarged excavation with advanace heading respectively. Better excavation options were obtained after the comparison of stresses, displacements and plastic zons from all options. Calculated results indicated that the options of double side-headings and enlarged excavation with advance heading were better and easier for construction, with small variation amplitude of displacemens and without tensile streses, with symmetrical plastic zones and with smaller working area.
