Abstract: Waterproofing of the tunnel and its joint with the access shaft is a key requirement for the Qingcaosha river-crossing tunnel, which transports drinking water. Based on the characteristics of this deep water-conveyance tunnel, quality control of waterproofing and design and construction techniques for the special "outside enclosed" joint with the launching shaft are presented in detail.
