Research on One-Component and Two-Component Grouting at a Shield Tail in Water-Rich Soft Rock

Abstract There are some technical difficulties involved with grouting at a shield tail in water-rich soft ground liable to collapse, so an in-depth study was performed regarding grout proportion and technology and its applicability. Included is an analysis of the properties of seven grout proportions for the four popular grout materials of cement, bentonite, coal ash and water glass. The construction technology of back filling injection with one component and two components for the water-rich soft stratum is proposed, which controls the rapid setting of two-component grout and ensures effective grout filling.
