Abstract Metro projects are huge systems, and each milestone construction period is very important since a delay at one site will result in delayed track laying and, ultimately, delayed opening of the whole line to traffic. Based on the analysis of the actual progress of Lot 2222 of the Shenzhen Metro line 2 (consisting of the Qiaoxiang Station and the Antuoshan to Qiaoxiang, Qiaoxiang to Xiangmi, and Xiangxiang to Xiangmi Tunnels), the progress index of key subdivision works was calculated and the essential measures for progress control are summarized.
