Abstract: This paper introduces techniques to improve the effects of smooth blasting in the construction of bored metro tunnels with shallow overburdens in terms of the mechanism, main technical parameters, and application cases of smooth blasting, using the hard rock section between the Antuoshan Station and Qiaoxiang Station of the Shenzhen Metro as an example. It focuses on the smooth blasting of bored tunnels which travel under important buildings.
