Abstract: Based on experience with the design and construction of highway tunnels, this paper discusses some problems in relevant clauses of the“JTG D70-2004 Code for Design of Road Tunnels”, especially the load calculation method for open-cut tunnels, the load calculation method for shallow-buried tunnels, and the reinforcement cal?culation method for flexural and compressive reinforced concrete members. Corresponding suggestions are proposed for specification preparation and revision.
