Abstract The accumulation body of landslide of Wuyuan tunnel on Menghua railway is mixed up with sandy new loess, cohesive new loess, fine round gravel, silty clay and so on, excavation of the inclined shaft reveals that working face is rich in water and the deformation of primary support is large. Ground surface reinforcement by sleeve valve pipe grouting is adopted to guarantee the tunnel safety. This paper describes the construction technology of sleeve valve pipe, assessment method for grouting reinforcement effect and principles of grouting reinforcement for various strata. The practical application effect shows that the grouting by sleeve valve pipe embodies the advantages of penetration grouting, compaction grouting and splitting grouting, which can increase the stratum integrity and stability of main tunnel and guarantee the construction safety of tunnels with mixed sliding masses.
