tion risks. In order to reduce the risk and cost, it is important to obtain accurate and comprehensive local geological information before tunnelling. However, as for the most of the conventional geological survey methods, it is difficult to provide the insight into regional stratigraphic information due to the several limitations. In this paper, it studies the random source model based microtremor survey method (MSM) especially in terms of data acquisition, processing, analysis and geological interpretation for the upper soft and lower hard strata. The continuous high precision stratigraphic profiles are obtained, and the existence of boulder stone and bedrock intrusion is precisely identified,which is verified by the geological drillings. Based on the microtremor survey results, some pretreatment measures have been applied to those high-risk area accordingly, achieving the good engineering effects.
