Abstract As for the running tunnel section from Central hospital station to Huaita Donglu station on Xuzhou metro line 2, the karst located in the section is relatively developed with poor regularity and rich water. And the construction is subjected to risk because of the large span of cross passage and simultaneous construction of tunnel group.Given this, a numerical model of tunnel group at the junction of main line and connection line is established by using ABAQUS software and considering four kinds of construction sequences. The optimal construction sequence scheme for running tunnel is obtained by analyzing the stress distribution of the soil mass and primary support of cross passage, as well as the overall construction scheme and specific construction measures for the tunnel group are proposed. The application practice results show that ground surface settlement can be effectively controlled by proposed mined construction scheme for tunnel group at the junction of metro main line and connection line in karst stratum, guaranteeing the safety of surrounding buildings and underground pipe lines.
