Current Specifications and Trends of Highway Tunnel Lighting:A Discussion of Energy-saving Techniques

Abstract This article analyzes the problems in current specifications of highway tunnel lighting design and reveals the reasons for urgent modification of JTJ026.1-1999 Specifications for Design of Ventilation and Lighting of Highway Tunnels. Based on the application analyses of LED lighting and a comprehensive comparison between LED and traditional HPS for tunnel lighting both at home and abroad, this paper discusses ways to save energy and reduce emissions caused by tunnel lighting. It also addresses the movement of tunnel lighting from pure functionalism towards a more rational and comprehensive environmental approach.
