Abstract   Rock mass parameters are the key factors of the security analysis in geotechnical engineering, and at present, the inverse analysis is normally used to determine the rock mass parameters. Aiming at the problems concerning local optimization solution and initial value input with conventional inverse method, the MATLAB software is adopted to develop the inversion program of parameters based on simulated annealing arithmetic method (SAA), realizing the analysis with coupling of simulated annealing method and ABAQUS finite element software. The global optimization inversion is to be reached by means of setting the probability of escaping from local optimization solution during the inversion of iterative process. The calculation experimental model concept is proposed to validate the effectiveness and practicability of the inversion program, and the effective parametric inverse analysis is carried out based on a foundation pit project in Nanjing.
