Abstract Grouting is an effective means to deal with geological disasters, but it may affect groundwater quality during construction. Using the Shangyuanmen station in Nanjing Metro as an example, this paper examines the influence of the new quick-setting grouts on groundwater quality by selecting eight monitoring points inside and outside the foundation pit and analyzing the sample data with a comprehensive evaluation method. The results show that the water quality factors near the grouting area are greatly influenced, while those outside the grouting area are slightly influenced, indicating that new quick-setting grout is applicable to underground works for which groundwater protection is requested.
