The principles of energy-collecting hydraulic smooth blasting technique, charge structure, assembling method of energy-collecting tube and charging procedures were described, and the energy-collecting hydraulic smooth blasting techniques and economic effects were specially analyzed by taking the Jinpingyan tunnel on Chengdu-Lanzhou railway as an example. The results show that this new technique has the advantages of easy construction and control of excavation contour line, reduction of overbreak,speeding up construction progress and decrease of construction cost, with significant economic and social benefits.
