Abstract:
Based on the modified Loganathan's formula, the analytic formulas of soil displacement induced by the multi-circular face (MF) shield are established by means of the superposition principle. Using a deep metro station in Japan as an example, the characteristics of surface settlement, subsurface settlement, and lateral displacement caused by construction disturbance of the MF shield are revealed. The outcomes clearly demonstrate that the computation values are consistent with that of the in-situ monitoring, so the computation method is applicable to analyzing the ground displacement character of the MF shield. The transverse surface displacement curves of the MF shield basically agree with the Gaussion's equation.
