Strategy for Illumination Energy-saving of Highway Tunnels
under the Condition of "Low-carbon Economy"
The problems of lighting during the operation of highway tunnels are outstanding in China at present time, which involve the design parameters to be optimized, backward illumination control measures and misunderstanding of the concept of illumination energy saving as well as less emphasis on maintenance of illumination devices. With the concept of building "environment friendly" highway tunnels, totally 15 measures for improving the illumination energy-saving are proposed from the perspective of system engineering, including accurate measuring of the luminance outside tunnel, optimization of design parameters of tunnel illumination and choice of light source etc.,they cover the various aspects of energy-saving involved in technique, structure and management. Practice indicated that the energy-saving of highway tunnels can reach at least 20% by adopting above-mentioned techniques and measures, together with good ecological, economic and social benefits.
