Abstract Using the shield passing through the built tunnel of the Qiaoxiang Station to Xiangmi Station section of the Shenzhen Metro Lot 2222 as an example, this paper introduces the method used to fill the gap between shield segments and primary support in terms of jack thrust checking and grout proportions optimization. The construction procedures of a shield passing through a built tunnel were improved by means of equipment reconstruction and filling dosage optimization. The GFRP early strength concrete was sprayed and the shield machine attitude was controlled with the help of jack stroke error and deflection angle calculations for each segment ring.
