Abstract Pipe-jacking is a trenchless technology used to build tunnels that utilizes a hydraulic jack to place prefabricated segment linings according to design schemes. This method can significantly reduce the effects of construction on road traffic and reduce the need to relocate pipelines by using large rectangular sections in a metro underpass. Based on the analysis of one metro underpass, this paper verifies that utilizing large rectangular sections in pipe-jacking is an advanced method and encourages rapid and safe construction.
