Abstract Based on site monitoring of the relationship of the water ratio and stability of surrounding rock in the Taoshuping and Humaling tunnels under the three conditions of excavation without dewatering, dewatering after excavation, and excavation ater dewatering, the varying patterns of water ratios and the relationship between water ratios and the stability of surrounding rock were analyzed.
