Abstract Utilizing project experience, this paper analyzes the cause of local seepage of a "bored pile+twin-tube jet grouting pile" grout curtain under a high-pressure, water-rich sand formation in a floodplain area of the Songhuajiang River. Such measures as vertical ground grouting, oblique grouting consolidation between the piles, exploratory excavation, enclosure of steel plates, intensive mesh+shotcrete support, and rapid subsealing were carried out to overcome the difficulty related to local seepage of the grout curtain during excavation of the deep foundation pit, ensuring successful construction.
