Abstract The local sections of the Humaling tunnel on Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway are characterized by rich wa? ter, highly alkaline groundwater, and the fast crystallization rate, which causes the serious drainage blind pipe to be blocked. With respect to the current situation of clogging diseases, referring to the investigation data of the drainage blind pipe blockage diseases during the tunnel operation, the chemical composition of the crystals is determined, the formation and development mechanism of the crystals is analyzed combining with the hydrological conditions, the clogging disease characteristics of the blind pipe are summarized, as well as the repair and treatment measures for tunnel drainage blind pipe blockage are proposed, providing the theoretical guidance and reference experience for treatment of crystallization blockage diseases in similar tunnel engineering.
