Abstract:
As for tunnels in fractured surrounding rock with developed joints, it is very important to rapidly judge the stability of surrounding rock in light of the joint development on the excavation face. Using the right line of the Chayuanli Tunnel as an example, the dominant joint surfaces were identified based on the specific description and statistical analysis of the joint development characteristics at YK21+670~YK21+718. A block stability analysis was carried out by the stereographic projection analytical method. The type of rock mass sliding and stress state were obtained and compared with that of numerical calculations. Additionally, the rock blocks with the potential to fail and the consolidated area were determined, ensuring the safety of the tunnel construction.
