Abstract Based on existing emergency rescue plans and countermeasures for tunnel collapse during construction in China, a GIS-based tunnel collapse rescue management system is proposed. The design of a functional modulus and configuration are described in detail, and the SuperMap Object platform, SQL server2012 database management system, and the Visual Basic visual environment are used in the design development. The development of this system provides a new management method, improves emergency rescue, minimizes harm and guarantees personnel safety.
