Monitoring and Analysis of Pipe Jacking Force in the Shenyang Urban Stratum

Abstract Jacking force is an important parameter in pipe jacking, proper control of jacking force can guarantee the stability of excavation face and optimize the arrangement of jacking shafts and immediate jacking stations. Based on an analysis of monitored jacking force of flanged steel jacking pipe and reinforced concrete jacking pipe, the variation law of jacking force under different structure styles, materials, diameters and excavation methods of jacking pipes was obtained. The results show that the variations of jacking forces and curve patterns of friction resistance per unit area versus pipe jacking distance are different during construction of steel pipe jacking, manual concrete pipe jacking, concrete pipe jacking with EPB shield and concrete pipe jacking with slurry shield.
