Abstract This article analyzes the major risks and consequences of the large diameter shield construction of the Yangtze River Tunnel on the Nanjing metro line 10 with respect to environmental, geotechnical, and hydrological conditions. Meanwhile, it addresses the preventive and remedial measures to reduce the probability and consequences of accidents.
