Abstract Using the water blockage by grouting technique employed in the water-rich Zhongliangshan tunnel on the Chongqing rail transit line 1 as an example, this paper analyzes the theoretical data of curtain grouting and the empirical data of advance curtain grouting in order to explore this controllable technique. The controllable technique was achieved by controlled final grouting holes, final grouting pressure, grouting quantities, and grouting material, and the goals of rapid, safe, and efficient grouting construction were reached.
