Abstract Based on the characteristcs of red bed passed by the Longquanshan No.1 and No.2 tunnels on the Chengdu -Jianyang expressway, the grading of tunnels with gas present was analyzed. This paper presents the treatment measures adopted in this situation based on the designs of the two tunnels discussed.
