Some Issues Concerning Construction of High Speed Railway Tunnels and Corresponding Countermeasures：A Case Study of Beitaizi Tunnel on the Beijing-Shengyang Railway

Abstract In light of the poor effect of smooth blasting, restriction of excavation progress by step pitch of tunnel construction, occurrence of void and cavity at crown of secondary lining as well as ventilation problem in long tunnels, a thorough analysis was conducted and some countermeasures were proposed based on the Beitaizi tunnel on the Beijing-Shenyang high speed railway.
