Abstract:
Shield tail gap is critical for segment selection. It will cause disturbance between shield tail and seg? ment and lower the driving speed if the gap is too small. While grout is likely to break through the grease of shield tail and result in grout leakage if the gap is too large. In order to improve the measurement precision of shield tail gap to ensure the tail gap variations keep within the allowed range, a measuring system for shield tail gap is studied based on visual processing. A design for the whole system is described, the Labview-based image processing algorithm and the two-dimensional convolution-based edge detection algorithm are mainly introduced, and the communication system and data transmission between Labview and PLC are presented. The research results show that this measuring system is easy to operate and good in accuracy.
