Abstract:
It is rare for a domestic tunnel to encounter water-rich non-diagenetic fine sand, which is very unstable after excavation. Its susceptibility to plastic flow and slide collapsing can result in clearance intrusion of the primary support, significant caving-in, and negative effects to construction quality, safety, period, and cost. Based on the construction of lot LYS-7 of the Taoshuping Tunnel in the tertiary water-rich non-diagenetic fine sand, this paper summarizes the construction techniques for a tunnel with these characteristics.
