Abstract:
The prominent quality problems of construction joints of railway tunnel linings are mainly represented by displacement, twisting, cockling of the embedded rubber waterstops during concrete pouring and this results in the risks of lamelliform concrete at construction joints and chip off-falling, endangering railway traffic safety. However the visual effect of tunnel linings is affected if the lamellated concrete is removed. In view of this, the embedded rubber waterstop reinforced with horizontally built-in steel plate is developed, and the problems concerning complex site installation and management are radically solved by the industrialized steel plate embedded in the rubber waterstop, without changing the material performances of rubber. The field test shows this new waterstop is worth being promoted and applied attributed to the characteristics of easy use, good installation quality, high efficiency and low cost.
