Abstract  It is very seldom for a tunnel to encounter the immature fine sandstone stratum with rich water, of which the lithology is extremely unstable after tunnel excavation. This paper analyzes and discusses the construction techniques of Taoshuping tunnel Lot LYS-7 on Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway embedded in fine sandstone stratum with rich water in terms of the project profile, construction method, existing problems and countermeasures.
