Abstract:
Pingshiban tunnel is 154m long with large-span single tube changed from double-track to four-track and with three different section types. The large-span section features complex environment, shallow overburden, uneven pressure, fractured surrounding rocks and difficulty for construction. The paper describes the project characteristics and construction techniques involving large pipe-roofing pre-support with self-drilling hollow anchor bolts and double side-heading excavation for the large-span section.
