Abstract:
To verify the validity of adopting Earth-Pressure-Balance Ratio (EPBR) to control the thrust balance of EPB shields, a control structure of EPBR suitable for electro-hydraulic simulation system was designed and the control characteristics of EPBR were studied under conditions of various driving speeds and soils. Results showed that EPBR can control earth pressure steadily and guarantee shield driving in a balanced manner under different conditions.
