Abstract:
While it is very common for urban rail transit projects to be constructed beneath important traffic arteries, it is very difficult to guarantee the safety of these projects and the buildings surrounding them. This paper analyzes the bored section of the Huanghuagang Station-Shaheding Station of the Guangzhou Metro Line 6, constructed under an inner ring road, which exhibited such problems as shallow overburden, poor stability of surrounding rocks and the safety risks to nearby buildings. Measures adopted to successfully overcome these problems included a temporary steel bridge, WSS full-face grouting, a large pipe-roof and the CD method.
