Abstract:
The portal of the Dengpan tunnel is convered by soil, deposits, and boulders of various sizes and is characterized by spheroidal weathering of the basalt. In order to inhibit slope failure and large deformation, the forming process of spheroidal weathering and its harm to tunnel construction were analyzed. Selection of construction options was made by fuzzy mathematics. Additionally, based on the deformation monitoring data, the effectiveness of the construction scheme was analyzed and verified. By taking such measures as support reinforcement, control of construction disturbances, and waterproofing and drainage, problems concerning deformation and slope instability were solved.
