Abstract The no. 2 ventilation inclined shaft for the left line of Daxiangling Nibashan tunnel has a total length of 909.38 m and inclined angle of 17°29′19″(31.5% slope), and the total length of that for the right line is 912.7m with inclined angle of 16°41′12″(30% slope). Track transport systems were adopted, considering the complex geological conditions and water inflow of 27,000m3/day. This paper introduces the construction techniques for inverts of the steeply inclined shafts with high water inflow. The side walls at the corner of the invert were cast first with the drainage system included and then the invert was cast full width all at once to ensure quality and safety.
