Abstract: With the development of BIM technique, it is significant to promote and integrate the BIM technique with the construction of urban rail transit engineering, make the best of its advantages, speed up process of information development in construction sector, and realize smart metro in new era. Based on an application of BIM technique in the Beijing metro line 19, a discussion on BIM application and promotion in urban rail transit engineering was conducted, with a focus to understand the goal, make a plan, establish standards and integrate resources. In light of the requirements of project, demonstration application was carried out, and the key problems were studied,realizing universal acknowledge and wide application and promotion of BIM technique.
